Financial Controller

The Role

This a great opportunity to join this developing aviation leasing company where you will be required to build out the internal accounting functions that have been outsourced since inception. Reporting to the Senior Management Team, the Financial Controller will be responsible for financial control and reporting systems and helping to develop and manage the Finance Team to support the growth of the business.

Initial responsibilities will include:

• Financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts to management and shareholders
• A/P, A/R, and ledger – build out this team as required
• Day-to-day management of the accounting function
• Preparation of management and financial accounts
• Act as a source of expertise on financial and control matters and aviation leasing industry accounting standards
• Lead and grow the accounts team and advisors

The Person

The ideal candidate for the position should meet the following requirements:

• Qualified Chartered or Certified Accountant (CPA) with at least 7 years post-qualification experience working in industry such as an aviation lessor or a big ticket asset leasing business or come from or come from big four practice.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS and any other technical account rules
• Work and manage outsourced service providers
• Ability to function in a dynamic and changing environment

The Company

Our client is a full-service commercial aircraft trading and leasing company primarily focused on early to midlife aviation assets that are both serviceable and part-out candidates.They provide a variety of fleet solutions to their global airline customers and select secondary trading partners focused solely on the most in-demand Boeing and Airbus aircraft and their respective powerplants.  With the company’s continued growth, our client now has a requirement for a Financial Controller.

The Package

This position will be based in Fort Lauderdale and our client is offering an attractive remuneration package commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience.  Relocation within the USA with be considered.
