The Role

The Head of Channels, is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of a retailer’s online sales and digital presence. This includes managing the ecommerce website, driving traffic and sales, managing customer experience, and leading the ecommerce and distribution function.

Reporting to the CCO some of the key responsibilities for role include:

  • Oversee the design, functionality, and user experience of the company’s e-commerce website, ensuring it aligns with brand standards and optimizes customer engagement and conversion rates. This is particularly critical for an airline business focused on online as the key sales channel
  • Develop and implement comprehensive digital marketing strategies to increase brand visibility and online sales, including SEO, PPC, email marketing, and social media campaigns.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and partners, including digital marketing agencies, e-commerce platforms, and payment processors, to ensure seamless operation and integration of services.

The Person

This role would suit someone keen to make their mark by building a customer centric mobile first platform, with an opportunity to demonstrate their ability to think on their feet, think fast and innovate on a lean budget.

Ideally the successful candidate should have:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field, emphasizing digital commerce, analytics, and marketing strategies.
  • A deep understanding of web design, SEO, and e-commerce technologies as well as exposure to airline distribution.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience in working with people at all levels
  • 7-10 years’ experience of commercial e-commerce and distribution experience that demonstrates:

*Omnichannel strategy development

*Digital marketing integration

*Customer experience design

*E-Commerce analytics

*Conversion rate optimization

*A passion for innovation and doing things differently

  • Sound knowledge of core airline systems and knowledgeable about distribution system technologies and latest industry trends
  • A friendly, approachable manner, who is keen to support your colleagues and the Company wherever possible and beyond the requirements of your role.

The Company

Our client is a well-established regional airline operating in and around the UK and France.  It operates regular passenger and freight services to the UK, France, the Republic of Ireland and is one of the longest serving regional airlines in the world and is the second oldest established airline in Britain.

The Package

This position is UK based, with a potential for remote working, though no sponsorship is available  for those outside the EU. Our client is offering an attractive remuneration package commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience.
